Dit was een korte trip om Riga in Letland te verkennen. Riga is een fraaie Hanzenstad met een grotendeels gepreserveerd middeleeuws centrum maar ook een fraaie Art Nouveau wijk ten noorden hiervan. De eerste twee dagen verkende we het centrum en de Art nouveau wijk met zijn mooie museum en houte architectuur.

De laatste volledige dag huurde we een auto en hebben de Heuvel der kruizen bezocht in Litouwen, die bestaat al sinds de 15e eeuw en bevat zo'n 200.000 kruizen. op de terugweg bezochten we het Kemeru nationaal park en de plaats Jurmalaa met zijn fraaie houte bebouwing.

Na vier dagen zat deze korte trip er alweer up, een mooie kennismaking me tLetland en Litouwen!

This was a short trip to explore Riga and its surroundings. Riga is a Hans city(Like Bremen and the Dutch town of Kampen) and has a well-preserved middle age centre. It also features a beautiful city quarter containing Art Nouveau architecture and some beautiful wooden houses. The first two days, we explred the old centre and is surroundings

The last full day, we rented a car for a small trip into Lithuania. There we visited the Hill of crosses that is standing there already from the 15th century and contains around 200,000 crosses. On our way back, we visited the Kemeru national park and Jurmalaa with it's beautiful wooden buildings.

After four days, unfortunately, the trip to these beautiful places in Latvia and Lithuania came to an end.
