In June 2020, as the Corona Pandemic eased in Europe and traveling abroad was allowed again, I took the opportunity to travel to the Alps in Southern Germany. It took a ten hour train trip to get there but the surrounding is nice and the atmosphere is relaxed.
The next day, I visited even a country that I never visited before: Liechtenstein. In Vaduz, I visited the old Rhine bridge and even walked shortly into Switzerland. The castle of Vaduz guards the city and the parliament building and the Cathedral are the most noticeable monuments in town. After a short visit to Lindau and the Bodemsee, I took the train back to Fussen.
The next two days, I used my time to do a lot of walking, visit the Neuschwanstein castle, built by king Ludwich in the late 19th century in medieval style. Then last day I did a long hike around the Alpsee and Schwansee, two lakes near Neuschwanstein. A very beautiful area at the foothills of the Alps. These days I managed to hike almost 70 kilometres altogether in the area.
The next day it was time again to return home after this short but really relaxing trip.
In Juni 2020, terwijl de Corona pandemie in Europa op zijn retour was en er weer gereisd mocht worden, heb ik de gelegenheid aangegrepen om Zuid Duitsland te bezoeken. Het was een treinreis van 10 uur maar de omgeving is fraai en de sfeer relaxed.
De volgende dag bezocht ik zelfs een land waar ik nog niet eerder geweest was: Liechtenstein. In Vaduz bezocht ik de Oude Rijnbrug en wandelde zelfs Zwitserland in. Het Slot van Vaduz waakt over de stad Vaduz en de meest monumentale gebouwen zijn het parlement en de kathedraal. Na een kort bezoek aan Lindau aan het Bodemmeer treinde ik weer terug naar Fussen.
De volgende twee dagen stonden in het teken van wandelen en een bezoek aan het Neuschwanstein kasteel, dat in de tweede helft van de 19e eeuw door koning Ludwich is gebouwd in middeleeuwse stijl. Op de laatste dag maakte ik een rondwandeling rond de Alpsee en Schwansee door een fraai landschap. Tijdens deze dagen wandelde ik bijna 70 kilometer bij elkaar deze dagen.
De volgende dag was het weer tijd om naar huis te gaan na deze korte maar fraaie en relaxte trip.
